Social workers' roles and contemporary responsibilities in addiction management

This paper sought to explore and describe the roles responsibilities of social workers in addiction management. The researchers adopted a qualitative approach used multiple-case study design. Purposive convenience sampling techniques were select who specialise substance/addiction management from two Non-Governmental Organisations one Government Department. Individual interviews focus group discussions gather data, then thematically analysed. study's findings indicated that service practitioners' public private sectors are blurry. It was further found there is role confusion due lack clarity on this issue as some staff tends shift their responsibilities. article provides lenses for higher education institutions tailoring work programs address issues, persistent need development curriculum responding
